Halloween

We have had such a fun filled Fall so far and have made so many memories... pumpkin patches, playing in the cool outdoors, hiking, dressing up, sitting at dinner talking about our blessings. I love this time of year!

Life is Busy

8 months have gone by since I last posted. Life is busy and my two little ones never slow down. But for you Jennifer, I am updating you on our crazy. We have had a great summer. We didn't make many plans, but stayed on the move. We went to story time, swimming, bouncy houses, picked blueberries, created science experiments, played in sand, at the playground, went to the grandparents, drove twice to Texas..... many great memories. Brody is growing and picking up words and phrases so quickly over the past couple of months. He never gives up trying to keep up with his big brother. He loves balls, books, trains, climbing, outside, riding toys, and sleeping (thank goodness). Aidan is a good big brother and never seems to mind having a little shadow. He looks after him and is good at taking turns with him. Aidan is 3, but already can stump his momma. If he is awake (and he hardly ever sleeps), he never stops talking and asking questions. He is the most curious, deep thinking little fellow I know. He loves books, movies, dinosaurs, hermit crabs, football, riding his "motorcycle" and imaginative play. Although moments are tiring, these boys make me laugh every single day. And our family is growing. In mid September, we will find out if we are having another boy or a girl. Either way, we are very excited and we know that God has blessed us with just what we need.

Brody is 1

How often we hear "time flies". But it is made ever so apparent during certain moments in life. One of these being, my little fellow turned 1 yr old on the 29th. This time last year we were spending New Years in Baptist Hospital with our brand new addition. So much has happened in the past 365 days. It is so exciting and thrilling and a little sad all at the same time. Brody has been such a laid back kid from the very beginning, he goes with the flow, however he recently has been finding his voice. He started walking at 10 months and hasn't stopped giving his every effort to keep up with his brother. He is a peanut weighing a whole whopping 3 pounds smaller than Aidan did at this time. We may face backward in the car for awhile, but he's tough and determined. Brody hasn't loved sitting listening to books over and over as much as his brother, but he is a cuddler. Every night he makes his rounds to give out his kisses before bedtime. He laughs a lot, is a little mocking bird, falls a sleep quickly and sleeps well and long (like his mommy), loves to play with nothing more than a ball (like his daddy). Aidan is such a good big brother, and Brody adores him. My job as their mommy is so fulfilling and full of joy and adventure. I can't wait for all the years ahead, but right now I want to take the time with them to get down on the floor and play trains, to dance and sing and act silly, to read them the same story 10 times over, to laugh at the little things, to be "Nala"while Aidan is "Simba" and Brody "Pumbaa".
Happy Birthday, My Sweet Brody.

On Christmas Eve, we had a birthday lunch for Brody with the Collierville crew.

And on Thursday, the 29th, we celebrated at our house with Gran, Papa, and Aunt Donna.

Christmas 2011

It is hard to believe that Christmas has already come and gone. We had some fun Christmas parties and wonderful time with family and friends. Aidan really enjoyed the story of Jesus this year and we even played pretend a few times - he was Baby Jesus, I was Mary, and Daddy was Joseph. He deemed Brody as Baby Moses. It was really sweet. He also really got into Santa. A big change from last year when he was scared to death of the man with the white beard.
We started off our Christmas celebration with opening presents with Gran and Papa. We then headed to Collierville (only a slight delay due to Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease), for a week at Nanny and Paw Paw's with Bethany, Liam, and Cole. In Collierville we were very busy - driving through Starry Nights, seeing Santa at The Enchanted Forest, Christmas with the Hall clan, Christmas with the Adams, Santa came while we were there, and then there was the opening of presents amongst my immediate family. We came back to Nashville Christmas evening. But the fun didn't stop there - we had breakfast with the Brasher's and then we opened presents from each other. It has been busy and exciting and the boys have lots of new toys to show for it.

After opening presents at Gran and Papa's, we went to visit Santa.

In Memphis, the boys enjoyed The Enchanted Forest. Their favorite part was the trains.

The boys settling down for a long winter's nap.

The Collierville Square was lit up for Christmas. Aidan and Liam enjoyed keeping Santa's seat warm while he was away.

The whole gang at GG's house on Christmas Eve.

The boys and their Great Grandmother, GG.

We had several people tell us that Brody and Cole look alike.

Uncle Steven and Uncle B spent the night and it was so fun all being together on Christmas morning.

Is that Aidan or Woody?

An attempted family pic.

Paw Paw read us the story of Baby Jesus. Aidan always loves a good book.

The boys played so nice together on Christmas morning.

Santa brought Aidan a bouncy ball.

Halloween

This year around Halloween we had a little Curious George and The Man in the Yellow Hat hanging around our house. Aidan has loved reading and watching Curious George lately; so the custom was a success.
Aidan likes to be The Man in the Yellow Hat most any day of the week. We have worn it out to Joann's and Chick-Fil-A, to bible study, and most every afternoon at home. Sometimes we accessorize with our football helmet (another of our current favorites), sometimes not. When in character, he likes to be addressed as George, George's Daddy, or The Man in the Yellow Hat; he'll let you know.
